Fused glass is glass that has been fired (heat-processed) in a kiln. Fusing was the primary method of making glass for almost 2,000 years. Egyptians were familiar with the technique around 2000 BCE and the Romans went on to further develop and refine the process.
The beauty of fused glass in creating jewelry is especially relevant because of the ability to layer the glass. This creates a large variety of colors and shapes in a single solid piece. Each piece comes out different creating pieces that are completely unique. We can use stained glass or Dichrotic fused glass.
Fused glass pieces can also be incorporated into the design of lamps, windows or other endless possibilities.
